ABOUT KIRK
Kirk was born and raised in St. Gregor, SK, about one hour east of Saskatoon. In 2008, he relocated to Saskatoon to obtain a degree in Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan. Kirk has lived and worked out of the Saskatoon/Martensville area since then. Having the knowledge and expertise that comes from growing up on the farm, Kirk worked in sales for an agricultural company for some years.
Having a desire to own a business, Kirk started a marketing company then slowly transitioned into the mortgage industry. Having a passion to help as many people as possible, the mortgage industry became a place where Kirk could dedicate his efforts to find the best option possible for each client.
Kirk has dedicated himself to the sport of Curling. Now skipping his own team, Muyres Curling, they play on the Grand Slam of Curling, World Curling Tour and Curling World Cup. They have represented Saskatchewan at the Tim Horton’s Brier in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019, capturing the first bronze medal for Saskatchewan, since 1999 in 2015. Kirk also competes in the mixed doubles discipline and has won the 2018 Canadian Championship and 2018 World Bronze Medal. His teams are focused on winning an Olympic Gold for Canada and winning Saskatchewan’s first Brier since 1980.
As a way to give back, the team is highly involved in the community, dedicating themselves to helping grow grassroots and youth sports throughout Saskatchewan through their annual Junior Curling Tour. In addition, Kirk is a director of the Do More Agriculture Foundation that supports people’s Mental Health in the Agriculture Industry . He also helps people and organizations by being involved in guest speaking engagements for charity and community evenings.
